    Students are tasked with following the weekly news and creating memes that convey the most important bits of different stories. Of course, the memes need to be funny and catchy.

  2. New Media 1: What Are New Media?

    We no longer live in a world of newspaper and television and radio broadcasts. Technological advances and the internet have fundamentally changed the way media are created and consumed. These lessons will take a closer look at new media and their future.

    In this lesson, students will learn about how advances in technology and the rise of the internet gave rise to new media, the forms they take, and how they influence the way we create and consume information.

    In this lesson, students will source data from a text and use it to create an infographic.

    In this lesson, students will delve into the world of multimedia journalism by analyzing and discussing examples.

  8. Our Media Environment 1 — Citizens of the World

    This interactive lesson has students learning to critically engage with media in different countries by exploring how they cover specific issues. They present, compare, and contrast their findings to gain a deeper understanding of the ways different perspectives can influence reporting.
